Mark Matus, MD is a Family Medicine resident physician at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine – Chattanooga / Erlanger Health System. His prior training includes nine months of ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and clinical experience in post-acute and skilled nursing care.

He is also a PhD candidate in Clinical Medical Sciences at Semmelweis University, with a research concentration in vascular and cerebrovascular medicine. His work focuses on carotid disease, cerebral hemodynamics, perioperative neurologic risk, multimodal imaging, and cognitive outcomes. His earlier research fellowship at Mayo Clinic focused on cerebrovascular physiology, perioperative stroke risk, EEG/NIRS monitoring, and neurologic outcomes.
